Hockey Night in Burlington

I attended the Burlington Cougars game tonight at Appleby Ice Centre Arena. The zamboni had just finished and the teams were about to skate back onto the ice for the third period.

Burlington Skyway

This was taken around the same time as the lift bridge photos. The Burlington Skyway is a huge bridge on the west end of Burlington, going towards Hamilton. I didn't really get a sense of just how big it was until I was underneath it.

Appleby a GO GO

Taken at the Appleby GO Station parking lot. I was going to get some stuff from my car, when I noticed this sky. The camera was in the trunk so I took it out and snapped a few. This was the best one. This was scanned along with the two photos in my previous post, and I'm not too happy with the quality.

Perhaps its time to try Henry's...

Lift Bridge Under the Skyway

Taken at the Lift Bridge down by the Burlington Skyway Bridge. I had these scanned at the photo developers instead of giving me prints to scan on my own and they were quite grainy which explains the lack of crispness of these images. I was hoping for better colour/contrast.

Sunset and 5

Took this one on the way to my friends house. Couldn't stop looking at the sunset until my girlfriend told me to "just take the damn photo already".

So I did.

Emma's Freeze and Fries

This place and the Riviera Motel next to it are wonderful 50's style buildings on Lakeshore Road in downtown Burlington. This place closed down last year, and the Riviera is having an apartment building built about 6 inches away from it.

I keep getting "tips" from the photo shop mentioning not to shoot
into the sun because of the silhouetting that can occur.
Thats exactly why I do it though.
